The sad yet shocking news came up yesterday on my Windows screen which showed that Microsoft would be ending it's two dedicated web browsers- Internet Explorer and Edge Browser.
I cannot believe but accept the sad reality that we might not be able to use them after a while. Tech world is in shock and so am I being a dire Microsoft fan and regularly used since my school days.
The world's largest technology company Microsoft has decided to discontinue its popular browser, Internet Explorer 11 (IE11), and Edge Browser. The company will also soon stop technical support for both these browsers.
According to the information received, Microsoft has announced that from the beginning of the year 2021, it is going to close Internet Explorer 11 and Edge Browser. That is, in 2021, Microsoft will not support both these services.
The process of shutting down Internet Explorer 11 will begin from November 30 this year. After this, Microsoft 365 apps and services will not support the browser starting from 17 August 2021.
Simply put, users will not be able to use Microsoft services such as Outlook, OneDrive, and Office 365 on Internet Explorer 11. Users will not be able to technically uninstall the browser from a Microsoft device, but no update will be released on behalf of the company.
After 7 months, Microsoft will introduce the Chromium Based Edge Browser, which will be available in all sport versions of Windows (Windows) and Mac (Mac) operating systems.
A dedicated Internet Explorer mode is included in the new Edge browser. Also, the new browser will provide faster web access to Microsoft 365 subscribers.
According to some recent reports, Microsoft Edge has retained the second position in the race for the most popular desktop web browser after overtaking Mozilla Firefox and coming close to Google Chrome.
We will be getting Microsoft Edge back but now It is high time (but on a sad note) we are going to say that start downloading Microsoft Edge in case you do not have one version and use as much Internet Explorer you can because it is living its last days before it even starts popping up. Just like Windows XP and Windows 7 operating system (OS) another beautiful thing by Microsoft comes to an end.
